How are Introversion and Autism similar?
Without a professional diagnosis, autism and introversion may look same to a layman. Autism is characterised by difficulties in behaviour, social interaction, communication and sensory sensitivities. People who are introverted also suffer difficulties in social comminication and public interaction but it doesn't require medical intervention. Diagnosis at an early stage seems difficult because when a child is growing up and adjusting to the new environment it is assumed that all his behaviour and activities are normal. It's when they grow up and can't seem to keep up with their peers and find it extremely hard to express basic emotions; is when parents think to get the condition confirmed. It is important to be just acutely aware of your child's needs and activities. It is easy to miss when one isn't paying attention.
