Inventure Academy was established in 2005 is an Inclusive School spread across 37 acres and is located on the outskirts of Bangalore, India. It’s affiliated with the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) – IGCSE. Learning Lab has been created to aid students with special needs. The objective of Learning Lab is to mainstream the students as early as possible. The complete focus is towards mainstreaming kids by Grade 8 so that students can prepare for board exams.
Assessments are carried out both formal and informal and based on the strength and weaknesses identified, an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is created by special educators. The plan is customized for every kid based on his needs. The special educators and the counselor also run group sessions, addressing age-related issues. Teachers use whole-group instruction for introducing ideas, planning or sharing results, then let children work individually or in groups, based on readiness, interest and learning style. Ongoing assessments help identify children who need more support, and those who need to be placed in an accelerated learning programme.
A common infrastructure is used to meet the needs of both ends of the spectrum, customizing toolsets to meet the specific case of each child. The activities are administered by members of the faculty, trained in the use of the toolset. Modern equipment complements the use of indigenous methods of learning and emphasizes their effectiveness in the treatment of learning disorders.
